Sunday Stamps II 116

The theme this week is roosters or chickens - a nod to the Chinese New Year I think.  I am showing a scan from the US postal service, also shown by one of SeeitonaPostcard's contributors:

From the USPS website:
Around the world, a new year is welcomed with gifts, noise, and celebration! A red envelope (hongbao) featuring a colorful illustration of a rooster highlights the 2017 Lunar New Year: Year of the Roosterstamp from the U.S. Postal Service, tenth in the Celebrating Lunar New Year series. The characters at the top of the envelope form a common Chinese greeting of celebration and wish for prosperity and good fortune, used most frequently during Lunar New Year. The Year of the Rooster begins January 28, 2017, and ends on February 15, 2018.

Pretty!  And cherry blossoms too.
Visit SeeitonaPostcard and see who else is playing this week!

You know, I hardly noticed the cherry blossoms, thanks for pointing that out.

I'm still hoping I will receive a postcard from USA soon with this stamp. Pretty interesting design!
